Giles Nice, Parker Bad

by: dword

As the Slayerettes escorted the Slayer away from the unconscious Parker and back toward the dorm, Giles suddenly stopped walking. When they noticed this Willow and Xander stopped as well. Totally oblivious to this Buffy kept walking. As she passed him Giles quickly but gently snagged her arm and drew her to his side. The tension left her body when he gave her that special smile meant just for her. Smiling back Buffy settled down on the ground to wait for her friends to move again.

Looking over at Willow, Giles inquired,"Would anyone care to explain to me why Buffy was knocking that young man about the head with a club?"

"Well, you see Giles, that was Parker. Buffy has issues," was Willow's hesitant reply.

"Parker?" Giles struggled to control the anger that rose up in him. "That was the bloody rakehell that treated Buffy so shabbily?"

Practically growling,"Perhaps I should go back and talk to that boy."

Their eyes growing wide, both Willow and Xander took a step back. Staring at Giles Xander whispered."Ripper."

"Gi, Giles? you’re not going to do anything? R, right?" stammered Willow.

"Yeah G-man..." At the hard look Xander received from the Ex-watcher, he stopped and restarted. "I mean, Giles the authorities will not be happy if you start breaking students. No matter how much they deserve it."

"I just think that the little toad should be taught some respect for a lady."

Perhaps it was her Slayer powers of healing, or the fact that her Watcher was upset, whatever it was reached into Buffy and started to pull her out of her Cro-Magnon haze.

Giles was startled when a small but strong hand slipped into his.

"Buffy, lady?" she asked hopefully as she looked up at Giles.

As suddenly as it had appeared his anger left him. Smiling down at his Slayer fondly Giles replied, "Most definitely a lady. Never doubt that."

"Giles nice. Giles good, Parker bad. Forget Parker. Take Buffy home, Buffy tired."

"You heard the Lady, G-man. Let's go home."
