For writers just starting out, wanting to get their feet wet; for writers struggling through a block; or for anyone that wants to try something a little different...

Gileswench has written a great essay... Challenge FAQ that may help you better understand the nature of the beast.

An orphan is a story a writer starts but for whatever reason, be it writer's block, lack of time, etc., can not finish but thinks it should have a chance. The writer puts the orphan up for adoption, another author can take it and finish it.

An example of this is my story: Words Said in Anger Arkin started this story and because I wanted to try my hand at Angst, I adopted her orphan when she offered it to me.

A Plot Bunny is what we call a story idea. Sometimes they are specific, sometimes they are vague. Sometimes they evolve into challenges and sometimes we pass them on to other writers because we want to get them done but don't have the time ourselves.

If you have a challenge, a picture challenge (ie., a picture that you would like to see a story based on), an orphan, or a plot bunny that you would like to donate... Please send it: to the LIST. I will post it here and we will see what happens.
